Carbon footprint 碳足迹

Since we live in a world with a keen environmental awareness more than ever, it is just a matter of time before we ran into a phrase such as “carbon footprint”. what is “ Carbon footprint” ?

If we interprate word by word, it is 碳足迹 in chinese. If we step on mud, we will leave a clear footprint on the mud. Just imagine when we use something that will create carbon to the enviroment,  it’s like we had left a huge footprint on our environment. from BBC learning English, it’s like this: : Carbon 碳. 碳足迹就是指一个人的能源意识和行为对自然界产生的影响。

Smitten with British Accents 情迷英音

先来句题外话。 最近超迷smitten这个词。 第一次看到这个单词，眼前浮现出的就是一直小猫蜷在主人身边依偎着，取暖着，撒娇着的感觉。 好温馨的。后来一查，这个单词也的确有种迷恋的意味在里面呢。

言归正传了。以前一直在找个理由开始研究英音，但是总是无限期的推迟了（好吧，我错了）。最近由于某些缘故（或者说某star的缘故，我承认我俗～～but whatever），以前对于英音的崇拜又大爆发了。 到处搜集英音的东西来听， 了解英音的历史，和美音的对比，如果练习英音，英音的不同分类等等。 看了不少文章，也做了些笔记。待有空的时候做一个比较综合的总结。

最近参照的比较多的网站，首先自然是www.bbc.com  我更关注的是podcast的部分。 超级多的节目，选一些自己喜欢听的。 BBC learning English是一个了解英音的很好的途径。虽然里面的听力难度不高，不过作为知识了解还是很值得的。特别是有一个Ask about Britain的部分，里面讨论了很多有关英音的分类和英音与美音对比的问题。 RP在英国的流行程度也有人做了讨论。 让我大致对英音有了初步的了解。

昨天又找到了一个超级权威的官网, http://www.britishcouncil.org/learnenglish  有关英国生活的各方个面都有涉及。

喜欢英音，BBC的广播剧怎能错过？ 囊括了几乎所有的名著， 侦探小说。 今晚抽空听了一些我超级喜欢的Agatha Christie的广播剧， 这些人的英音真的是让人心醉啊。。。 前一阵子刚看完《呼啸山庄》的原著。小时候看过的翻译版估计太烂，要么就是自己不上心，反正几乎除了主人公其他都忘了差不多了。 这次重温，其实不想看原著的，想看杨苡的翻译版，据说非常精彩。只可惜一直没有买到书，结果摒不牢，手头有原著的PDF版，就捧起来啃了。这块骨头啃的我累啊。。。 总算啃完了，真的是让我体会到什么是无尽的恨。 这种撕心裂肺的情感，真的是太强烈了。 现在就想着找到BBC的广播版听听大师们是如何通过声音来诠释的。

My obsession continues to grow. 今天听了好几个小时的podcast，

竟然又到午夜了。 这几晚被蚊子骚扰， 可恶啊。。。 家里竟然有超过两位数的蚊子。我两年没被蚊子咬，难道现在是payback time吗？

这几天看了Ed Westwick的几个采访。迷恋英音中～～ 当然，说起英音，当然不能不提Tony Blair.

正在看原版的wuthering heights 那时的英语真的很拗口。对于布朗特姐妹的作品真的是顶礼膜拜。 不过每一个时段重读这些故事，会有新的体会。
